The most widely used instrument assessing PA and NA is the Positive Affect and Negative Affect Schedule (PANAS) [ 2 ], which was developed based on previous emotional measurement studies [ 3, 4 ]. WebbThere is a moderate correlation between the positive and negative affect scales (Pearson r = −0.41) indicating how these are capturing two related – but also distinct – constructs. Within the analysis, I am particularly interested in those pupils at the top and bottom ends of the positive and negative affect distributions.
