Phonon anharmonicity in bulk zrte5

WebSep 28, 2024 · Anharmonic lattice vibrations play pivotal roles in the thermal dynamics in condense matters and affect how the atoms interact and conduct heat. An in-depth understanding of the microscopic mechanism of phonon anharmonicity in condensed systems is critical for developing better functional and energy materials. Weboptical phonon modes in bulk T d-MoTe 2. Our measurements extend down to 5K, allowing us to observe departures from the commonly observed Gr€uneisen behavior. We find that two phonon modes exhibit modest changes in frequency with tem-perature, while the remaining two modes exhibit large, nonline-ar changes in linewidth, frequency, and intensity.
